Musical instruments and accessories totaling more than 5,000 yen

Items can be purchased free of tax if the total amount (excluding tax) of general goods (guitars, wind instruments, scores, CDs etc.) purchased is over 5,000 yen.For purchases of general goods which exceed 1,000,000 yen (excluding tax) in total, we will require a copy of your passport or similar identification.

Musical instruments and accessories totaling more than 10,000 yen

Consumables such as instrument accessories totaling more than 5,000 yen.

Items can be purchased free of tax if the total amount (excluding tax) of consumables (polish cleaners etc.) purchased is over 5,000 yen and under 500,000 yen. Consumables cannot be put together with general goods.Tax-free consumables will be packaged so that they cannot be consumed in Japan.

1.Checking of passports etc.

(Note)
- Persons who do not have their passports with them will not be able to purchase items tax-free.
- Persons who have stayed in Japan for six months or more are not eligible for tax-free shopping.

2.We prepare a proof of purchase document and purchaser's written oath.

3.The proof of purchase document will be attached to your passport and tally stamped over both the document and passport.

Persons eligible for tax-free shopping

Temporary visitors such as foreign travelers (non-residents).
* Foreign nationals who reside in Japan are not eligible for tax-free shopping.

Non-residents eligible for tax-free shopping

-Persons who do not have an address or residence in Japan and who have been in Japan for not more than six months, general foreign travelers etc.

-Japanese nationals who have left the country for the purpose of staying overseas for two years or more, have temporarily returned to Japan and will leave again within six months, etc.

An example of foreign nationals who are not eligible for tax-free shopping

Foreign travelers who reside in Japan and to whom any of the following apply are not eligible for tax-free shopping.

Persons who are employed by a business operator in Japan.
Persons who have been in Japan for six months or more.

foreign pop, rock, classical and other music.

We deal in Japanese and
foreign music scores,
music magazines, music goods, etc.

We deal in wind instruments
(saxophone, flute, trumpet, clarinet, etc.)
and string instruments (violin, viola, cello,
double bass, etc.) from Japan and overseas.

We deal in Yamaha grand pianos,
upright pianos, electric pianos,
and soundproof rooms.
